What is Self-Awareness?

Self-awareness  enables you to understand your strengths, weaknesses, and values. This knowledge helps you understand how to align actions and feelings with set goals and how these can affect others around you. 

While introspection plays a huge role in this process, it also involves seeking feedback from others in order to gain a more accurate perspective of yourself.

How to Improve Self-Awareness

  • Regular Reflection: Set aside time everyday to reflect on your thoughts, actions and feelings. Ask yourself what went well, what didn’t, and why.

  • Seek Feedback: Seek constructive feedback from friends, family, and colleagues. Use their insights to gain a deeper/ broader perspective on yourself.

  • Practice Mindfulness: Engaging in mindfulness practices like meditation help you stay present and attentive to your thoughts and feelings.

Never forget that your feelings are not only very important but are also valid.

Here Are Some Self-Reflection Exercise

Take a few minutes to answer the following questions:

  • What are my three biggest strengths?

  • What are my three biggest weaknesses?

  • How do I react to stress or criticism?

  • What is one thing I want to improve about myself this month?

By regularly engaging in self-awareness practices, you will  begin to notice improvements in your personal and professional life.
